       This week we will study Bacteria, Review and watch Planet Earth videos.

 Engineering Design 3rd       

        Toy Train Project. Students will create a wooden train having a Engine, two Cars and a Caboose. Students will design each part - Each part made in ISO part - Each part dimensioned then each part assembled in assembly drawings. This will probably take about 5 days. This should be finished by Tuesday this week and then students will Design and Draw a Bird house.

            Toy Train Project - we only have 2 days of  regular class left.  Students will probably have time to only design the Engine and Caboose. Train project will be graded Wednesday.

       Today we will finish Medical Research Paper presentation. Students will be given terms that will be on final exam. We will begin reviewing.

       Today we finish Patterns and Developments using Assembly in Solid Edge.  Tomorrow we begin Toy Train Project. Students will create a wooden train having a Engine, two Cars and a Caboose. Students will research and present this week. Also STAR testing this week. Students will be given terms that will be on final exam.

Next we are going to build DNA strands from pipe cleaners.first we are going to draw them in Flash. Study next is Amphibians in which students will draw the internal part of a Frog.

       Today we will present our Web Pages in a review of the Human Anatomy section we created last week. This will probably take today a some tomorrow.  Next in our Biology book we will study chapter 9 - Vertebrates. The most familiar group of animals to us.

       This week we will finish  Auxiliary Views. Wednesday we will begin Threads, Bolts, Nuts And Fasteners. Students will learn about Detailed, Schematic and Simplified thread representation. Students will have drawings to create.

       This week students are going to Create two Web Pages in a review of the Human Anatomy section we just finished. This section we just covered has seven chapters and students are to create a web page about two of the chapters.  The web pages should be a review / summary of the chapter. Students may use HTML or Dreamweaver.

 Engineering Design 3rd
       This week we will finish sections and begin study in Auxiliary Views. We will have a discussion and examples drawn on the board along with a power point.  Students will be given drawings to create in Solid Edge.

      This week we will continue to use Windows Movie Maker to create videos using cell phones. Students are to create an educational video.  This will include sound / narration. Thursday - students will create a web page about current events happening about their particular strand.  Botnets for example in the computer strand.

       Chapter 50 - Endocrine System - This week our study involves Chemical Messengers such as hormones and glands.  Students will answer section review, define terms and discuss material in section. Test will be given on terms and a drawing will be required.

       This week at the beginning we will work on dimensioning and then we will move into sections. Students will watch a PowerPoint about section drawings and it will be discussed in detail.  Students will be assigned drawings to complete also in this we will work on Threads , Bolts, Nuts, and Fasteners.

This week we will cover ch. 49.    Students will trace in Flash an image of the brain and label the different parts(test).  Students will research and create a Power Point about addiction / drugs.  This report may include prescription drugs and nicotine. Students will also do a presentation on a famous person who died from drugs.

Medical Technology
       Chapter 49 - The Nervous System and Sense Organs. This week we will cover ch. 49.  We will read the chapter and answer in complete sentences all section reviews and critical thinking.  Students will have a quiz on the terms in the chapter.  Students will trace in Flash an image of the brain and label the different parts.  Students will research and write a report about addiction / drugs.  This report may include prescription drugs and nicotine.

 Engineering Design 3rd
       This week students will use Dial Calipers to create necessary views with dimensions of 8 different parts which I will give to students.  Students will work in groups of 2 and a couple in groups of 3.  Students will create drawings of parts from their sketches.  This project will take several days to complete.

      On Monday students will create robots using Incredibots which applies physics to the game. Tutorials will be necessary to use the software.  Later in the week we will start Photo Shop to create a display of photographs.

       This week we will finish sections by completing one final drawing which will be graded.  Next we will begin Auxiliary View Drawings.  Students will learn how and why auxiliary views are necessary.  Students will have several drawings to complete.

Medical Technology
       Chapter 48 (Digestive and Excretory Systems).  This section study includes Nutrients, Digestive System, and Urinary System. Students are to answer all section review questions after reading the chapter. Also define all bold Terms. Students will use flash and trace as drawing of the Digestive system and label it.  Students will create a test which will be Multiple Choice (4) which consist of 15 question and an answer key. This week we will watch a movie which is called Typhoid Mary.  Students will write 20 facts about the movie. Later in week we will have an exam labeling the Digestive system. Next chapter is The Nervous System and Sense Organs.

 Engineering Design 3rd
       This week we will continue to create drawings in which we place Dimensions.  Students will place Dimensions on drawings so part can be made.

       Chapter 47 (The Body's Defense System).  This section study includes Pathogens, Immune System, Immunity and Vaccinations ,Vaccines and Treatment. Students will do the section reviews and a test on terms will be given.

       Today I will show students how use Revolve to create bowls, cups and objects the involve a center axis. Students will be given several projects to create.  We will also continue to create drawings using Solid Edge and the Extrude function.

Mr. Huggins ~ Feburary 6 ~ Feburary 10 ~ A Week

Medical Technology
       Chapter 46 (Circulatory and Respiratory Systems) in our biology book. During this study students will trace the heart and show blood flow.  Also students will take blood pressure of each other using machine. Students will receive A Lab blood Work sheet in which students will define Basic Metabolic Panel terms , create a table and show limits. The next section is the Body's Defense System.

Engineering Design 3rd
       Today students will use Bridge Builder to design bridges and simulate a load and stress. Students will have test on engineering terms. Students will learn how to read and create drawings using Dial Calipers. Students will have about six parts to measure and sketch.

       Students will present a presentation on new Technology in a PowerPoint.  Later in the week we will do some drawings in Solid Edge.

    Students will continue to use Flash and trace a drawing of Skin, Ear and Eye.  We will have a quiz about mid week on the different parts.  We will also work on the Career Essay for English classes. This week we will begin chapter 46 (Circulatory and Respiratory Systems) in our biology book.        Today we will talk about Architecture for the first part of the class then we will will begin a study of Design.  Students will be given a Design Process sheet as we discuss this topic.  Students will design and create a Puzzle Cube.  It exists of 27 pieces and will contain 5 parts.  Students will design, color, glue and paint each puzzle. Parts will be drawn in Solid Edge.

    Today we have a quiz on chapter 24 (viruses) to finish the chapter. After the quiz we will begin Human Biology study.  We being in our biology book with chapter 45. Skeletal, Muscular, and Integumentary Systems. Students will have a quiz on the bones and the muscles.

Engineering Design 3rd
       Today we begin drawing in 3d using Solid Edge Extrusion. Students will be given drawings to create the necessary view.  These will be just one view.  Students will also have a test about tolerance, tangents, drill holes and fillets / rounds.

       Students the other two creations from the site Aviary - Audio Editor. Students have created their own audio which will be a test grade. Students are to create 3 track of music. One of the creations should be of music which students do not normally listen to.

Engineering Design
        This students will be using Bridge Builder download to create bridges to withstand a load to the bridge they have created. The game has 15 levels in which the students go through.

    This week we will study ch. 24 in the Bio book. Viruses - the students finished creating and presenting a PowerPoint about topis of students choosing as long it is about Viruses.  Tomorrow we will begin study in the chapter and work on section review questions. Students will have quiz when chapter is finished on terms. Next study will be Human Biology.

Engineering Design 3rd
       Students will be given drawings to create in ISO Drafting.  These are one view drawings as students get familiar with the software. There is six drawings the students are to create. Tomorrow we will have a quiz from student's notes. We should finish these drawings this week and if so we will begin 3d extrusion parts next.

Mr. Huggins ~ Janurary 9 ~ Janurary 13 ~ A Week

Medical Technology
      We began our class using the Modern Biology text (chapter 23) studying Bacteria. Assignments are to answer section objectives (3) as we discussed the chapter. Students are to answer on page 479 questions 1 thru 9. Flash assignment is to trace a Cell and Prokaryote which is in the Medtech folder. Test tomorrow on labels of tracings. Next topic will be Viruses which begins on page 482 of text. In this section we will also answer section objectives, study definitions and answer test on page 497.  Students will also do a report using word on a viral Disease.

Engineering Design 3rd
       Students will be given a quiz on Engineers Notebook , Sketching, Pictorials and notes from discussion today.  This week students will begin work on Isometric Sketching. Students will receive handouts and create the sketch on isometric paper. We will continue our discussion about Drafting, Engineering and Architecture.

      Today we will finish our assignments from last week and Wednesday we are going to begin work in the area of Audio and Film Making.  We will use Audacity and Movie Maker to complete assignments.
